Our club continues events of One Team social project of EuroLeague and teams. This year the Army Men ambassadors meet the girls from Moscow cadet’s school called Boarding school of Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation. It should be mentioned that all the Schools pupils are the daughters of soldiers who serve in distant regions, kids from incomplete or large families, daughters of soldiers killed in the line of duty or those who participated in military operations and decorated with medals for war services.
The clinic was provided for junior group – girls teaching in the 5th grade. They have already visited Megasport and USH CSKA to watch the games. Girls shared that their favorite players are Khryapa, Hines, Vorontsevich, Jackson and Teodosic.
18 girls demonstrated enthusiasm and enviable discipline during the whole event. By the way One Team manager Yakov Tarasov dedicated the lesson to one of the basic elements of basketball – pass. After professional warm up and stretching the thigh muscles, back and ankles they moved to the main exercise. Girls started in pairs with the passes through the air and hitting the floor. It looked like simple task but in practice turned out to be not so easy – it was important to keep a distance and properly pass the ball to partner, so she can safely take it without injures. After that coach made the drill more complicated, converting a pair of triples.
Also, special attention was paid to developing of teamwork skills. The best demonstration of this work became a game named “Dog”. The girls were divided into two circles, the two stood in the center of each, trying to steal the flying ball. It was important girls in the center to learn not to throw everything together and distribute the force. Girls have great desire to learn new things, and their burning eyes make us to come back to them again to the Pension.
