Labyrinth to assist the team
The delegation of our club visited the Boarding school of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation again last week to continue One Team program, the Euroleague and its clubs’ social project. This time Yakov Tarasov, the One Team coach, was accompanied by Sergey Tarakanov, the head of the CSKA Board of Veterans and One Team Ambassador.

At the start of the class before the warm-up Sergey Tarakanov reminded the girls about the main goal of our project. “The main thing is to learn how to be a team,” Tarakanov said. “To become a team you need to do what you know and help your teammates. This is the whole principle of creating a team spirit, and all exercises that we offer will help you become one team!”

The first task developed the team spirit, dribbling and mindfulness. The girls were offered to work out the dribbling while standing still. First, they had to simultaneously bounce the balls, then Sergei Tarakanov added several conditions: the same should be done without looking at the ball, with showing the number of fingers he asked, with looking staright at the opponent’s face. The next exercise was unordinary “cat-and-mouse”: one participant had to catch another while remaining girls played the role of a moving labyrinth. The labyrinth changed its ways after a One Team coach call. “Cats” and “mice” needed to be smart to intelligently run around obstacles. Sergey Tarakanov noted the usefulness of the drill, saying that in basketball it is necessary to quickly think and maintain concentration, and the labyrinth perfectly demonstrated the strengths and weaknesses of the cadettes team. Girls executed all exercises with joy and enthusiasm, they finished the practice with their favorite competition in free throws.
