Yuriy Umrikhin returns to CSKA

Umrikhin played for the “junior” army teams for six years, becoming the champion of the Junior Youth League and a two-time winner of the VTB United Youth League. In the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons, the defender was involved in the training sessions and matches of the “base”, with which he appeared in six official games.

Last season, Yuriy played 39 matches for Samara, and in 19 he was in the starting five. In these meetings, he averaged 3.5 points on 43.8% of three-pointers, spending 10.8 minutes on the floor.

New player's contract with CSKA is valid until the end of 2024-25 season.

Andreas Pistiolis, CSKA head coach:

I am happy to welcome back Yuriy. We have worked together in the past, so I know we are adding a hard-working professional. In addition, he is a product of CSKA system, which as I have mentioned previously, is very important to me. I am confident that he will help us achieve our goal and improve as a player at the same time.

Yuriy Umrikhin, CSKA guard:

Many thanks to head coach Andreas Pistiolis and the club management for the invitation to the CSKA team. I am very glad to have the opportunity to play for my native club again. It is a great honor for me to become a part of it. I will make every effort and try to justify the trust placed in me.
