After the examination made by Prof. Andrey Korolev in European Medical Center today it was decided that our team's forward Victor Khryapa will not participate in European Championship.
Doctors said that Khryapa cannot practice until September 13. That means that he cannot help the National Team until the playoffs begin. Russian National Team coach David Blatt decided not to include Victor to the team's final roster for Eurobasket 2009.
Let us remind that Victor injured his knee during the Acropolis Cup game versus Lithuania on August 24. He was diagnosed with partially torn medial collateral ligament.
Victor Khryapa:
"It's a pity that I cannot help the team during the upcoming Eurobasket because of the injured knee. I hope that the team will play successfully despite all the difficulties during the preparation period, and I think it is able to succeed."
