CSKA cheerleaders also started to prepare for the upcoming season. The girls spent two weeks at the camp at Cyprus. We asked the head of the delegation Elena Klokova to make a summary of the camp.

Why did you choose Cyprus as the place for the camp?
- It is very hard to accommodate anywhere in the high touristic season the group of 12 people. It was very difficult to find the hotel. And I can not say that I am satisfied with the level of accommodation. It took the reception 6 hours to provide us the rooms.
Where did you have a camp in the previous years?
- Two years ago we were at the Maldives, last season we visited Egypt.
What is the main criteria for a place of the training camp?
- The hotel must have a gym. And we also need it to be situated at the sea side in order to get the tan and to swim enough. The girls have to look pretty well during the whole season.
What do the cheerleaders do at the camp?
- We had three practices a day. In the morning there were exercises at the seaside that lasted for an hour. At the midday it was too hot to have a practice outdoors so we used the gym. It was the longest practice – for at least 2 hours. And we used to finish the day at the pier. We used the hand-rails as gymnastic apparatus for an hour and a half. By the way the last practice was the favorite show of all other visitors of the hotel.
Did you make any new performances for the upcoming season at the camp?
- No. We are busy with it right now. As well as with making the new fancy dresses and the selection of the new girls. This year we are going to have a B team of the cheerleaders. There would be young girls and the newcomers. They need time to accommodate themselves in the team. And I would like also to organize a special group of the youngest girls in order to prepare the girls a long time before they would be able to join our team.
Would the B team perform anywhere?
- It is not determined yet. But I guess there is a chance for them to perform at the games of CSKA young team.
