Ruslan Abdulbasirov moved to CSKA

A native of Kizlyar, Dagestan, he went through the youth systems of Avtodor and Lokomotiv-Kuban, after which he played in various Superleague clubs throughout almost his entire career. Despite solid stats in the ranks of Dynamo Stavropol, Samara, Rusichi, Kupol-Rodniki, Tambov, Irkut, Dynamo Grozny and Novosibirsk, only last season Abdulbasirov got a chance compete in the top division of Russian basketball - the VTB United League. And in the ranks of Parma he immediately showed himself as one of the most effective Russian players in the tournament and as one of the best long-distance shooter out of the big men.

In 45 games (28 starts) he averaged 25.5 minutes, 6.3 points with 37.7% of long-range shots, 5.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocked shots. Abdulbasirov is probably remembered by red-blue fans, as he was noticeable in all games against CSKA last season. He was especially successful in the first stage meeting, in which the Permians got a home victory over the Muscovites for the first time ever, and their forward recorded a double-double with 18 points (2 out of 2 three-pointers) and 10 rebounds.
