Forward Nikita Kurbanov (37 years old, 202 cm) will spend the 17th (!) season as part of our team...

The record holder breaks away!

Kurbanov is a graduate of the Trinta Sports School of Moscow and the CSKA Youth Project. For the first time, Nikita put on the red-and-blue colors of the JBL team back in 2003, and already in the next season he tried himself in the first team. Despite the fact that in the forward’s career there were periods of “internship” in other teams (Lokomotiv Mineralnye Vody/Krasnodar, Spartak St.Petersburg and UNICS Kazan), he invariably returned to his home club and is currently the undisputed record holder of CSKA in both the number of seasons (16) and the number of games played (756).

Despite a three-month absence in the first part of last season, Nikita became one of the key figures in the team that successfully completed the campaign for the VTB League title. The veteran was constantly tasked with guarding the opponents' most dangerous player and fighting on the boards, but he was also very effective on offense. In 28 games, Kurbanov appeared in the starting five 18 times, spent 19.3 minutes on the floor, averaged 4.7 points (54.1% two-pointers, 47.2% three-pointers, 93.3% free throws), 3.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.8 steals.

Andreas Pistiolis, CSKA head coach:

Nikita is a part of CSKA history and a legend of Russian basketball. I am very happy to retain such a high-level professional and high-quality person in our team. There could be no other way, but to continue together.

Nikita Kurbanov, CSKA forward:

Staying at my home club was desirable and natural, and I am grateful to the management and coaching staff for counting on me and trusting me. I look forward to the start of next season to continue working hard, realizing our desire to win, feeling the atmosphere of full Megasport and support of the Army Team fans. CSKA will always be the first!
