Forward Filipp Gafurov will spend the rest of the season playing for Pari Nizhny Novgorod on loan. In turn, our club, also until the end of the season, leased center Sergei Klyuev from MBA Moscow…
Sergei Klyuev (25 years old, 208 cm) is a graduate of Khimki Sports School, where he also started playing professionally. He played for MBA for two past seasons. Last season, the center started for the capital team in 17 of 31 games, averaged 4.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 12.5 minutes. He was also called to the national team camp and played for Team Russia in a couple of friendly games. However, this fall Sergei was receiving less time in Vasily Karasev’s rotation. In 14 games, he started only once, spent 6.8 minutes on the floor and recorded 1.6 points and 2.5 rebounds.
Klyuev underwent a medical examination at the Moscow GMS Clinic and will join the team in Krasnoyarsk.
Emil Rajkovic, CSKA head coach:
We have big trust in Filipp and we definitely count on him in future. We also count on his progress in Nizhny’s system, under control of Zoran Lukic who knows Gafurov well because they worked together in the Russian National Team. At the same time in current rotation, we need a more typical 5-man, this is why we added Sergey Kluyev who hopefully will adjust to our core values, understand the system and help the team when needed. I wish good health and best of luck to both players.
