Emil Rajkovic, CSKA head coach:
Vladimir will have a chance to practice and play with good players that are older than him and I hope he will be very motivated and work very hard to make progress for himself and help the team in any possible way he can.
Vladimir Karpenko, CSKA guard:
It is a great honor for me to sign a contract with the main team after three seasons in the Youth Project, and I am grateful to the management of our club for the trust! This is a big challenge, an opportunity to show the best qualities and prove myself as an adult player in a club that has no equal in the history of Russian and Soviet basketball. This is exactly what I was striving for as a player of the Youth Team of CSKA. The next stage in my professional career begins. New goals have been set, and I will do everything to ensure that CSKA wins in all the tournaments in which it participates! I will strive to prove myself in the main team and justify the trust of the club management, coaching staff and, of course, the fans. Looking forward to the start of the season! I also want to express my gratitude to my first coaches Alexei Karpenko and Valery Malakhov, all the coaches of the CSKA Youth Project, in particular, Andrey Maltsev, with whom I managed to work in the first season of the youth team, Predrag Badnjarevic and all the staff of the Youth Project! They played a significant role in my development as a player and brought me to the main team!
