Holden can return in the second part of December
CSKA point guard J R Holden get back from America where he went through the surgery on his right small finger. The approximate time of his rehabilitation is 6 to 7 weeks.

“As you know I went to US to stay with my family for a while and to get the second opinion on the injury, - Holden said. - Then I went through the surgery after getting the permission from the club. Now I have four screws in my finger. For an average person it would take from 6 to 7 weeks for the recovery, but I am an athlete so I hope to get back earlier. Next week here in Moscow we will take stitches out and I will start to get strength back in my finger. Hopefully in 3 or 4 weeks I will return to practices with the team and in 6-7 weeks I’d like to participate in the games. To test myself it would be better to play in not so important games – I mean in those when season is not on the line for us.

You never plan the injuries when you start the season and for me it is the first serious injury in my career. I understand that the team needs me; my teammates are used to play with me as the first option on point guard position. And you just can’t take these things personally. I am the part of the team and I think about the team. I hope to be fully back when we will play the most important games. And now Nikos gets his chance – and he is truly talented player, Zoran will feel himself more comfortable. If I need to play less minutes when I’ll be back – there is no problem for me, I will do whatever coaches ask from me. My primary goal is to help the team to win”.

“Obviously J’s complete rehabilitation is the priority for us, - CSKA CEO Andrei Vatutin said. – We hope that the surgery conducted by American medics will help Holden’s fastest recovery. At the same time we do not plan to sign any other players: the club is already included Nikos Zisis to the team’s roster for the tournaments in Russia. CSKA’s power is in team game, and we do not intend to step back from this principle”.
