Our club’s used the contract option to part the ways with center Nenad Krstic and allow him to continue his career with the other team.
The Serbian player joined CSKA in the summer of 2011 as the free agent from the Boston Celtics. Krstic has become on of the Army Men leaders, being vocal part of the team’s victories in 3 VTB Leagues and Russian Championships as well as 3 Euroleague Final Four participations. Nenad was elected to the All-Euroleague First Team twice (2011-12, 2012-13). He played 180 games for the Red-Blues (91 starts) and leaves as 7th in club’s modern history in ranking (14.0). He averaged 11.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.5 blocked shots.

Parting ways with Nenad was probably one of the saddest moves of recent years. First of all, because great friend and excellent person is leaving Moscow. At the same time we are sure that changing the environment, signing new long-term contract will help Krstic to get new motivation, to spur his career, because he remains one of the strongest and most talented big men on the continent, possessor of dangerous and consistent offensive toolkit. We are sincerely greatful to Nenad for three great seasons in CSKA uniform, we wish him best of luck in his career, health and well-being to all his family.
Nenad Krstic:
I would to thank the whole CSKA organization. I think this was the best team in my career – in means of people, teammates, organization. It was three great years in my life and in the life of my family. It is sad that this time came to end, but I understand that it’s all about business in the end. CSKA will always be my team, I feel the same about CSKA as I do about Partizan, I feel like I played here most of my life. We had our common goal to win the Euroleague for the fans in Moscow, we did not do it, but I hope the team will win it soon in the future. I will always root for CSKA (maybe with the exceptions of the games where we probably play against each other). I wish best of luck to the team, fans and to everyone in CSKA office!
Удачи в спорте и в жизни!
Хвала Ненад, ти и ми били славни лов. Срећно и добро здравље вама и свим вашим вољенима,
Очень жаль расставаться...правда...
