Melo is with us until 2029!

Club president Andrey Vatutin announced the signing of the new agreement today during the player's autograph session.

The graduate of the prestigious University of Maryland joined the Red-Blues in the summer of 2023, having previously traveled extensively around the world and never stayed longer than a year in any one place. His career with the Moscow club brought immediate success: the team finished both previous seasons with gold medals in the VTB United League, and Trimble was named playoff MVP twice.

The basketball player has played 134 games for CSKA and scored over 2,000 points. This season is proving particularly successful for Melo, statistically speaking. In the VTB League, he's averaging 19.0 points (61% from two-point range, 38% from three-point range, 93% from free throws), 3.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.0 steals.

We traditionally don't announce contract extensions with players during the midseason, but we decided to make an exception for Melo. I think both fans and experts will agree: with his play, his work ethic, and his importance to the team, Melo has proven himself a key factor in our success. We understand that he's already attracting significant interest from major European clubs, but with this signing, we want to express our optimism for our future. We want to build a winning team with Melo as the central figure. I'm glad he's also become attached to CSKA and is enjoying playing for our team and living in Moscow.
