Marius Grigonis joined CSKA

Grigonis was raised in the Zalgiris basketball school, he is a native of the club's youth project. Though he got a ticket to pros in Spain. At the age of 19 he left for the Pyrenees: his first club was Huesca of the second division where he played on loan, then on full-fledged contracts he played for Manresa and Tenerife, with the latter he became the FIBA Champions League winner and Final Four MVP. In the 2017-18 season, he showed himself at the bigger continental stage, at the Eurocup with Alba Berlin, and then returned to his native Zalgiris.

In three years in Kaunas, Marius proved himself as one of the team’s leaders, taking part in 78 Euroleague games, winning three Lithuanian championships and two Cups. The last season was the most successful for the guard: in the Euroleague he averaged 13.4 points (50.6% two-pointers, 45.6% three-pointers, 94.4% free throws), 2.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Also Grigonis was named MVP of the Euroleague Week 5 and October MVP.

Since 2010, Grigonis has been playing for national teams of all ages, he became a two-time vice-champion of Europe (U16 and U18), a bronze medalist of the U19 World Championship, participated in the 2016 Olympic Games and 2017 Eurobasket.
