After the win against University Surgut the army team became tne only leader of Russian Championship. In the last game of their week trip CSKA defeat debutants of Superleague A.
After the win against University Surgut the army team became tne only leader of Russian Championship. In the last game of their week trip CSKA defeat debutants of Superleague A.
Universitet vs CSKA: 86-118
Surgut became the last point in the week trip of the army team. Right after the game they had to go to the airport to flight to Moscow.
CSKA started the game without center (this time David Andersen was out of the technical roster). Army players started in a very high temp in the early beginning. The defense of University could not do anything with the guests. The serie of far throws by Muursepp and Brown increased the advantage to 5-16. After the next series of 3-pointers the head coach of the hosts had to take time-out:9-25. It could not change the course of the game but helped the hosts to start score the points.
After the first quarter the open basketball continued. CSKA players who scored the first half with 37-70 could not force their self to play good in the defense. And hosts started to score many easy points. The shown to their tribunes their perspectives and gave to the coaching staff of CSKA new work for next practices.
The head coach of CSKA Dusan Ivkovic:
- There were two absolutely different half of the games. We could score 70 points in the first half. May be we made some mistakes in the defense, but we could score many points in the offense. It was fast game with easy points. After the break I gave the opportunity to play to young players. Unfortunately, it was not balanced game. After these three games in our tour I see some serious problems. We need to work hard in our practices after the return to Moscow.
