The marathon continues

The first half of November is not easy for our team due to a very tight schedule, including difficult away games. Coincidentally, personnel problems also add to the difficulties – the Red-Blues flew to Ural without Ivan Ukhov, who broke his finger and is continuing conservative treatment, and Livio Jean-Charles, who received a back injury in the game against UNICS.

“We are at the final stage of a very difficult schedule,” notes CSKA head coach Andreas Pistiolis. “Uralmash is a strong opponent, so we need to forget the result of the first meeting with them, play very seriously and give it our all.”

Indeed, if we expect a continuation of the September game in Megasport, we may face the problem of low motivation. Then the team routed their opponents with a score of 98-56, with everyone who entered the court scoring points.

In the thick of the battle

The middle of the VTB League standings is ablaze. Yes, it is still too early to calculate the odds, but it is already clear that the fight for the playoff Top 6 and the play-in Top 10 will be serious. Uralmash is in the center of the battle. Rostislav Vergun's team have won three of the last five games and is now sharing sixth-seventh places with their geographical neighbors from Parma.

The problem for the coaching staff of the black-and-orange team now is the shooting percentages. The Yekaterinburg team currently ranks last in the tournament in terms of three-point shots (30.7%), while they are among the leaders in rebounds (36.2).

Almost the entire attacking load is carried by a group of foreign players - Jeremiah Martin (16.8 points, 3.8 assists, 2.4 steals), Stanley Whittaker (14.3 points, 4.7 assists), Tyrell Nelson (12.8 points), Johnny O'Bryant (11.6 points, 5.1 rebounds) and Javonte Douglas (11.5 points, 7.2 rebounds). Oleg Akramov, a graduate of CSKA Youth Team who is on loan, recovered from an injury at the beginning of the season and took part in seven games - however, he did not manage to record any significant statistics.
