UNICS - CSKA: 57-77

Ettore Messina, CSKA head coach:

- We played a very consistent game, intensive both in the defense and in the offense. We have good reaction after the first loss in the series. It helped us to recover mentally after what happened in Prague. But on the other hand I don’t know if we would be strong enough to play another game of the kind in 24 hours. Tonight Kurbanov and Pashutin game us some fresh energy that helped us a lot.

Stanislav Eremin, UNICS head coach:

- We could not play well against CSKA tonight. I kept on saying from the very start of the series that in order to play with the Army club one should at least believe in the possibility of winning. We have lost the feeling somewhere on the way. The players missed the throws from the positions they used to score from with the almost perfect percentage. Accidentally we did not have much impact from the line that was supposed to be one of our strong points. I mean shooting guards-small forwards. Yudin, Toporov Stombergas, Chikalkin – all of them did not show high quality game. Probably there could be some changes in the game if Samoilenko was healthy. We did not plan to use him tonight as he could not even squat in the morning. But finally the situation was so tough that we did not have another way. Of course, it was a shadow of Samoilenko. But anyway he did his best to help us.
