Last Sunday CSKA junior team moved to the final of international tournament in Ro (Italy) to fight against Montepaschi for the title. In the semifinal Sergey Bazarevic team defeat Boston USA.
Last Sunday CSKA junior team moved to the final of international tournament in Ro (Italy) to fight against Montepaschi for the title. In the semifinal Sergey Bazarevic team defeat Boston USA. Thanks to the good defensein the first quarter army team could get the initiative scoring easy points in fast breaks. USA team recovered only in the second quarter. Guards of Boston Anthony Gurley and Farnold Degand started spurt by several far 3-pointers. But in the last quarter CSKA defense became very strong again and Americans could not do anything.
Boston - CSKA: 82-106 (18-32, 27-24, 22-21, 15-29)
CSKA: Urazmanov (25), Sheleketo (21), Goubanov (21), Smygin (14), Korolev (12), Kashirov (10), Ilia Gusev(3)
Yesterday Russians won first trophys of tournament. Ilia Gusev won 3-pointers contest and Yaroslav Korolev traditionally won dunk contest.
Also three players of CSKA (Urazmanov, Korolev and Sheleketo) participated in All Stars Game playing for East team. Under Sergey Bazarevic coaching they defeat West team by 84-74.
