Today in the morning in Milan NH Jolly President hotel our team’s head coach Ettore Messina received the prestigious Retina d’Oro award from the representatives of UniCredit Group.
It became known in September that Messina was named the laureate of the award which is considered as a basketball Oscar in Italy. CSKA coach was awarded for his successes and influence on basketball and was nominated as a professional who works abroad. Previously the awards were received by Unicaja coach Sergio Scariolo and Toronto Raptors vice-president Maurizio Gherardini. The Golden Basket to Messina was presented by UniCredit Basket president Mauro Rufini and general manager Giampiero Caneschi.
“This award brings me great satisfaction, - Ettore Messina said. – It is a recognition of good work in basketball made outside the country but for me it means first of all that here they still remember about me”.
