VTB United League Russian Basketball Federation WINLINE Basket Cup Euroleague Basketball
17.11.2025

The second game of the WINLINE Basket Cup will be held tomorrow at Megasport. Our team is eager to avenge their loss to Parma in the VTB League away game…

There were warnings

Simple and effective

If anyone underestimated their opponent, if anyone had any illusions about a walkover in the WBC group stage, the team have received plenty of warnings. The setback in Perm in October and the unexpected defeat to young Mega should shake everyone up. Moreover, the red-blues just lost in Kazan, playing basketball that wasn't up to par, so fans have every reason to expect to see fire in their players' eyes.

The Muscovites traditionally had a day off after returning from the road and today they had a full practice on the specially designed WBC parquet laid out on the Megasport ice.

"Parma has already proven that it is a high-level team," notes CSKA head coach Andreas Pistiolis. "Our opponents are playing simple and effective basketball; they've earned our respect. I hope we'll respond to the loss, especially since we're playing the team that beat us, and prove our level on the court."

Launched by CSKA

For the Ural team, the victory over CSKA was a turning point in the current season. After a disappointing start (the team began with two losses in the VTB League), Evgeny Pashutin's men went 7-3, including a victory over Lokomotiv-Kuban in their only WBC game so far.

Importantly, all the foreign players, who were called upon to carry a significant leadership role, immediately came to life. Center Terrell Carter, who crushed the red-blues under the boards in Perm (23 points, 11 rebounds), led the team in the aforementioned game against Lokomotiv (24 points, 7 rebounds), and also improved his numbers for the season (12.1 points, 6.1 rebounds). Brandan Adams remains the scoring leader (16.8 points, 6.5 assists, 41.6% three-point shooting), followed by his namesake Jaylen Adams (14.1 points, 3.7 assists, 51.1% three-point shooting), Carter, and Victor Sanders (11.1 points, 3.9 assists).
