Barcelona - Real - the main attraction of the Euroleague week. But on the Eastern borders of the tournament geography, the opinion is different. Regardless of the standings, all eyes are on the visit of our team to Kaunas...

PRE-GAME BREAKDOWN

The last place of Zalgiris in the standings should not deceive you. Yes, the Lithuanian team had a disgusting start, having nine losses in a row and changing the coach. But since then, a lot has changed, and the results in the previous four EuroLeague games for Kaunas and Moscow sides are the same - 3-1.

The Army Team coaching staff has all the roster at its disposal. Though only 13 players went to Lithuania as Vladimir Ivlev, Andrey Lopatin and Alexander Khomenko remained at home. On the other side Joffrey Lauvergne stays on the injured list.

REFEREES

Robert Lottermoser (crew chief, Germany), Emilio Perez (Spain), Tomas Trawicki (Poland).

PRE-GAME QUOTES

Dimitris Itoudis, CSKA head coach:

We play against a team that already established the ideas and philosophy of a new coach. Jure [Zdovc] is there already for quite of the time. They have a healthy team, they are altogether again. Definitely the fact that they won 3 games out of last 4 in EuroLeague shows us that they improved on both ends, defensively and offensively. They are beating the teams by keeping them low or by high-scoring efforts. At home, with a boost from their fans, Zalgiris becomes very dangerous team, it’s always difficult to play there. But we are in good momentum as well, we have most of players back, we are practicing, that’s the healthiest thing that you can have. We are going there to compete on the highest level.

Marius Grigonis, CSKA guard/forward:

I feel normal. I just want to see my family, I wait for the game, I wait to come to the arena before the game. I am a bit nervous but it’s a good feeling to go home for anyone. A lot of fans will come, obviously you want to show yourself, but if we win, I don’t care [about personal performance], the most important thing is to get the W and go home [to Moscow].

“RELATIVITY” CONNECTIONS
