The CSKA players are feeling themselves as well-known, welcomed friends in special boarding-school N8 for orphaned children and children deprived of parental care. Today our team visited just repaired school’s gym, brought some gifts for the children and gave them a lesson of basketball...
The CSKA players are feeling themselves as well-known, welcomed friends in special boarding-school N8 for orphaned children and children deprived of parental care. Today our team visited just repaired school’s gym, brought some gifts for the children and gave them a lesson of basketball.
On the way to the gym Matjaz Smodis, Victor Khryapa, Victor Keyru and Alexander Kaun visited the computer classroom and the library equipped together with LA Clippers and BC Khimki in 2006 during NBA Europe Live Tour.
A couple of new rings, the backboard and 10 professional balls provided by PBC CSKA were waiting for the test. So the stars of the team had to wait on the bench and to watch how the children try to learn some basics from the players of the junior team and its coaches Andrey Maltsev, Andrey Shigin and Sergey Zharmukhamedov. After the demonstration of basketball basics young CSKA players together with the children participated in funny relays and short friendly games.
The representatives of the main team performed in some simpler shows. Keyru have demonstrated streetball-like drible, Kaun – slamdunks, Smodis and Khryapa – shots from the distance. And, it should be mentioned, some of the kids on their home court shot better than Euroleague champions…
In the end it was the time for the gifts. Aside of the rings and the balls the players brought the books, toys, souvenirs and money collected by the players, coaches and employees of PBC CSKA. The money will be spent for the future renovating of the gym.
